A new JSON service from geonames.org is online. It works together with the Daily Terra layer and the calendar widget.
Currently it displays data from last 30 days depending on your choosed date.
Latest Cyclones near Australia have been Larry and Glenda. Here are two geoLinks for both: Larry, Glenda. Both are time enabled, switch to Daily Terra and show the trace of each Cyclone.

This geoLink (1101) provides a good starting point to explore the 2005 season in the Atlantic. It will bring you to September, 22th over the Caribbean Sea.
The data is fetched from Hawaii and has good accuracy, though it must not be used to make life or death decisions or decisions relating to the protection of property.
The colors of the icons indicate depressions (white), storms (yellow) and hurricanes or cyclones (orange), placing the mouse over an icon will show a small tool tip with more information (time and pressure if available).
