In a AP interview - published 2006-12-31 at DieNeueEpoche.com - Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, new climate advisor of german government, proposes a package of measures to tackle Climate Change.
The head of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) is convinced of:
- the EU countries should target a reduction of 20% by 2010.
- a global decline of 50% CO2 emissions until 2050 as a minimum, otherwise consequences are unmanageable.
- a system of national roadmaps, to make efforts provable and comparable between the G8 countries.
