La MangaGiles Tremlett writes in The Guardian about vanishing sand beaches caused by rising sea levels in Spain.

In a report for the Ministry of Environment Professor Raúl Medina prospects some areas will loose up to 5o meters until 2050. Around spain the sea level rises already 2.5 millimeters per year. With 6,000 kilometers coast tourism is a major business in Spain.

“I wouldn’t buy a house in La Manga, it is a bad investment because I doubt that my children would be able to use it, …” said Raúl Medina.

The Guardian: Global warming to wash away beaches, warns Spanish study.
La Voz de Galicia: Unas jornadas en el Pazo tratarán los problemas de arena de Silgar.
El Pais: Las playas españolas retrocederán 15 metros por la subida del nivel del mar.
